Services as In-Kind Support
Some folks have special skills or professional expertise. These can be of tremendous help to the Lutheran Campus Ministry as it moves forward with "Building on Strength." Since this sort of in-kind support also fits under the category of volunteerism, click here to see a list of areas in which your help would be appreciated. N.b., if you don't see it on the list, it doesn't mean that we can't use it.Stuff as In-Kind Support
Stuff can refer to furniture, appliances, envelops, etc., etc., etc.. We do want to be careful about stuff. By no means should the well-meaning supporter of the campus ministry go out and buy stuff for us without talking with us first. Why? It has to do with matching grants. If you buy a $500 refrigerator and give it to the campus ministry, the campus ministry becomes the owner of a $500 refrigerator. If, however, you give the campus ministry $500, we might just get a 1:1 matching grant, which means we will be able to buy a $500 refrigerator and a $500 range to match it. Stuff can be tricky stuff, and used stuff can be even trickier. As you know, we are trying to upgrade the Lutheran Campus Chapel and the Luther House. - Legal Services -- Already, there is a legal agreement that needs to be reviewed, and more are likely to come.
- Architectural Services -- We have a pretty clear idea of what we would like to do, but we need an architect to turn our rough designs into the genuine article.
- Civil or Structural Engineering -- Our designs for the renovation involve knocking holes in a few walls and some excavation.
