Building on Strength

Tech Resources

Life at a major university thrusts one into the world of technology.  We've some things that might translate well to congregational, organizational, and individual webpages, mail clients, etc..  What follows is a work in progress.  If you are not sure about what will serve you the best, have other questions, suggestions for changes to existing items, or requests for resources not listed, please contact us.

LutheranMountaineer (Yahoo! Groups)
This service provides email messages to subscribers from the LCM@WVU.  The primary purpose for the LutheranMountaineer (Yahoo! Groups) is to provide a weekly or fortnightly digest of upcoming events and opportunities.  Anyone can subscribe.  Those close to the LCM@WVU can find out what is happening, enabling their participation.  Those at greater distances will find it a great way to feel connected.  The link at left will take you to a FAQ page with an optional subscription box.

Webmasters should consider adding the subscription box to their personal or church-related website.  The HTML code is provided in the box at right.  If you prefer, a link to the FAQ page with an optional explanatory blurb could be added instead.
www.LutheranMountaineer.org
The LCM@WVU website is a great way to find out what will happen, is happening, and has happened at the campus ministry.  The homepage uses a "news" format, while navigational links take visitors to topics of specific interest.

Anyone with an email account is encouraged to add a link to our homepage in their signature file.  Webmasters are encouraged to add a link to their personal or church-related website.  For a graphic image to incorpate in your website, click here.
FaceBook
Yes, we are on FaceBook!  If you are on FaceBook, come join us.  While some of the groups we own are specific to the "WVU Network," some are "global."  The place to start is probably our "Fan Page."  This page is global and provides links to all the other pages related to the LCM@WVU (e.g., Lutheran Campus Ministry Alumni/ae, Lutheran Student Movement, Lutheran Disaster Response Collegiate Corps, Pre-Sems, Schola Cantorum, Luther House Fan Club, etc.).
LutheranMountaineer WebFora
For those not on FaceBook (which is most of us outside the collegian population), we still maintain our WebFora (powered by InvisionFree).  Special fora are being created for capital campaign leaders (including webmasters) and others to share ideas, ask questions, provide answers, etc..
