Fellowship
We always kick off the year with Lemonade Stand. Stop by the Lutheran
Campus Center during the first two days of class for a cool, refreshing,
and free glass of lemonade. No kidding...it's really free!
We don't even make you fill out any forms or applications...not like those
credit card companies...or even some of the other campus ministries.
"Free" means "free." The lemonade is our gift to you. Welcome
to WVU!
Service
Interested in helping people in need? The Lutheran Disaster
Response Collegiate Corps (LDRCC) was founded by the LCM@WVU in the 2005/2006
academic year. Student staffed and led, the LDRCC responds to
disasters primarily in central Appalachia, though we have been to the Gulf Coast four times. Your college years can be a
time for heroism. Are you ready to answer the call?
Education
Learning isn't for the classroom only. The LCM@WVU offers
formal and informal, group and one-on-one instruction in Bible,
Theology, and Church History. As St. Anselm said, "Fides quaerens intellectum." To learn more about our educational offerings, click here.
The Lutheran Campus Center is located on the Downtown campus
directly across the street from the Wise Library (less than two blocks
from the Mountainlair. The Chapel building features, in addition
to the sanctuary, a lounge with kitchen, library, and plenty of room
for a variety of activities. Some come to eat, others to study,
still others to recreate, and, yes, some to nap between classes.
Right behind the Chapel is the Luther House, our residential house for
WVU students.
LSM@WVU works to advance the Lutheran witness at WVU through communications, advertising, networking, and program support. There are so many offerings between the LCM@WVU, St. Paul Lutheran Church (Evansdale), and the regional and national LSMs, getting the word out and helping students get connected is becoming its own activity. Interested? Ready to rise to the occasion?
